Why steel, not timber
Steel does not move, does not get eaten and does not burn. On a WA site that means fewer callbacks.
-
01
Termite proof
Steel is not on the menu. No chemical treatment, no annual inspections on the frame.
-
02
Straight and true
Rolled to a tolerance timber does not hold. Walls line up, and stay lined up.
-
03
Non-combustible
Steel framing does not add fuel to a fire, which suits bushfire-prone sites.
-
04
Consistent
Every stud is the same. No knots, no warping, nothing culled on site.

What builders say
Three builders who have run Frametec frames on their jobs.
Frames turned up as drawn and the detail was sorted before we were on site. That is the part that saves us time.
I am not a frame builder. They walked me through the drawings and told me plainly what I was ordering.
Straight frames, labelled bundles, no missing pieces. We order the next one the same way.
Testimonials are carried over from the current site. Names and wording to be confirmed with the client before launch.

Questions we get asked
Do steel frames rust?
Frametec frames are rolled from TRUECORE steel, which is coated for the life of the building, or finished in paint to your engineering spec. Coating class is confirmed against your drawings and the site conditions. Read more about rust and coatings.
Are steel frames more expensive than timber?
It depends on the design, the span and the market at the time. We quote from your plans so you are comparing a real number, not a rate per square metre. Read more about cost.
Can you quote from my plans?
Yes. That is the normal way we work. Send architectural and structural drawings as PDF, DWG or images through the quote form, and we will come back with questions if anything is missing.
What file types can I send?
PDF, DWG and image files including JPG and PNG. If your drawings are large, send what you have and we will ask for the rest.
Do you install the frames?
Frametec manufactures and delivers wall frames and roof trusses. Installation arrangements are being confirmed with the client, and we also take enquiries from installation subcontractors. See careers.
How long does a job take?
Lead times move with factory load, so we confirm a date when we quote rather than publishing one here. Confirm with client
Send us your plans
